PrimeMix™ is a target specific, all inclusive, PCR reagent mixture that reduces costly labor intensive preparation, is easy to use and stable for weeks at room temperatures. PrimeMix™ TB and PrimeMix Flu have both been shown in clinical studies to indentify individuals at >36 CT level.
PrimeMix™ is stable at ambient temperatures for several weeks and is field deployable. Being able to break the cold chain for field deployment of RT-PCR, allows researchers, and public health officials the ability to gain extremely accurate data on circulating pathogens in all parts of the world in real time.
PrimeMix™ is not designed for any specific PCR machine. It can be used with the ABI 7500/700, the Idaho Technologies RAPID and JBAIDS, and the Roche Lightcycler.
PrimeMix-Flu™ is currently available for surveillance, epidemiologic studies and research purposes only. It has completed its first clinical trial 2007/2008 and the Longhorn Influenza A/H1N1-09 Prime RRT-PCR Assayª received FDA EUA authorization in February, 2010. All EUAs expired in June 2010.
PrimeMix-Flu™ is a highly robust, sensitive, and reliable PCR reagent kit.
It is suitable for use in regional laboratories, hospital facilities and in remote field locations. It can be stored for months at 4 degrees C and for weeks at room temperature.
PrimeMix-Flu™ is faster then influenza culture. It is easier to use than conventional PCR reagents with fewer pipetting steps then most PCR kits, reducing technician time and decreasing the opportunity for error and contamination.
PrimeMix-Flu™ kits provide PCR reagents to determine:
- Influenza/ No influenza
- Influenza A/ Influenza B
- Influenza Sub-type H1 or H3
- H1 / 09
- Influenza Subtype H5 can be added on request or purchased separately
